About Me

Travis Wayne Nuckolls:

I am a graphic artist with over 10 years of experience and a bachelors degree in art specializing in graphic design. I am familiar with both MAC and PC operating systems and design departments. I have worked in large corporate environments with a stable of 15 graphic artists and smaller companies where I have served as my own project manager.  Of course, I have always supplemented my income with freelance projects and other artistic endeavors throughout. Ultimately, each experience has proven a powerful asset to my career.

School and Experience:

When I started college, I wanted to be an illustrator. Specifically, I wanted to be a comic book artist. I quickly learned 3 very important rules about comic book art. First, you have to get good. Then you have to get fast. Then you have to get fast and good. At the time, I didn’t have the patience necessary to be successful as an illustrator the way I wanted to be so I started looking at different options. It was not until I decided to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville that I discovered the digital arts. I was hooked. In the summer of 2001, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Art specializing in graphic design.

As a graphic artist I have worked for several kinds of companies ranging from non-profit, e-commerce, industrial and government. My first position as a professional graphic artist was for the non-profit organization called CAIT. After almost 3 years there, I began a new job with MonsterCommerce (later purchased by Network Solutions). I then breifly worked as a website editor for Maritz Inc. From there I took a position as a graphic artist subcontracting for Boeing through SSE. I am currently an associate with the consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton where I work as a graphic artist.
